Djinee: Singer, MI Abaga, others captivate audience with good music at "Rush" event

RUSH with Djinee

Music met romance at singer's ''Rush" intimate musical experience event, that had audience asking for an encore at almost every turn.

Djinee Rush concert was a perfect union of music and romance, with other welcome ingredients of humour, suave gents and beautiful ladies in the mix.

Taking place on Sunday night May 7, 2017 at the Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel right inside a medium sized room, Djinee and a host of other fine musicians took the audience on a beautiful music jolly ride.

The event hosted by the ever lively Omalicha, radio presenter at Rhythm 937 fm kicked off with a lovely rendition by a talented music producer and singer Olaitan Dada,( who is the genius behind  production on Darey’s award winning Pray for me’) performed a song of his titled ‘Sweetest song’  and also performed an acapella of Isaac Gerald’s ‘Fall in love’.

Up next was an emerging artist called Destiny, performing his song ‘Away’ alongside his band.

Michael from The Voice Nigeria 2016 was brilliant with his performance covering ‘John Legend’s ‘All of me’ and amazingly well his own original score ‘You go love’.

The delectable Tomi Owo, also an emerging face in the music scene came through performing one of her songs ‘Ile’.

R&B singer Omotayo also blew the audience away with his songs ‘We found love’, and  ‘Closer.

A certain charming Indie folk artist armed with the guitar also came correct with the music on the night.

Now Muzik artist Acetune picked up from where he wowed fans at the 2016’ MI & 2Baba Buckwyld n Breathless concert with his showmanship when performing his love songs. He got off singing to Omalicha to the excitement of the audience.

Rock band Nathmac were on top of their game on the night, giving a riveting performance and converting some to overnight rock fans right there in the room particularly with the song ‘Adesua’ which rang a bell thanks to Banky W. They took on other songs ‘Kill myself’ and Faling’ which were pretty good performances as well.

Igos of Wazobia FM performed some comic relief which was tied around love and marriage, playing devils advocate .

Then the man of the night Djinee comes through at about 9:25 pm, looking like a rockstar. He starts off with his latest song ‘Shout out to my lover’, and then ‘Thank you’ off his debut album.

‘I no dey shame’ follows where he preaches on the true meaning of showing love.

Djinee was unapologetically a romantic on the night, taking on any beautiful lady in sight, serenading them with his music.

He brought out Debbie Ibinabo  Romeo from MI’s Chocolate City Music, and got very intimate with her sitting on the chair blushing away.  “Let me be your warrior tonight..” Djinee sang into her ears. He also got performing Bob Marley’s ‘Turn your lights down low’, in all its sensual glory.

Djinee then toned the romance down a bit with the sober prayer song ‘Alright’ before he turned it up again with audience favorite ‘Overkilling’ featuring the Choc Boys MI and Jesse Jagz.

Mr Incredible, MI then at some point joined Djinee on stage to light up the performance more. Best believe MI did his thing. They both then performed ‘MI’s ‘Safe’ after the earnest request from the fans.

The pair sure took everyone back memory lane alongside the band.

Djinee of course had to round off the night with his love song ‘Ego’, and killed it rightly well.

Great Music, romance and good humor all rolled up into one sure summarizes how the night went.

Djinee’s ‘Rush’ was a delightful intimate music showcase that deserves an encore.
