Kante’s impressive season with Chelsea has seen him already win the 2017 PFA Player of the Year.
Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has been the 2017 Player of the Year by the Football Writers’ Association (FWA).
Kante’s impressive season with Chelsea has seen him already win the 2017 PFA Player of the Year beating his teammate Eden Hazard.
The France international beat Hazard again for the FWA Player of the Year.
The award completes an incredible double award for the midfielder who is on the verge of making history as the first player to win the Premier League title back to back with two clubs.
He won the title last season with Leicester City before he made the move to Chelsea last summer.
Following Tottenham’s 1-0 loss at West Ham on Friday, May 5, Chelsea have to win just two games to win the Premier League title.
The 26-year Kante is the 18th man to win the PFA and FWA awards in the same season.
“It is a fantastic honour to win this award. With so many great players in this Chelsea squad and in the Premier League, for the Football Writers' Association to name me their footballer of the year is a very proud moment in my career,” the midfielder said.
Kante and Chelsea will be crowned Champions of England if they win their next two fixtures, against Middlesbrough F.C. on Monday, May 8 and Watford four days later on Friday, May 12.
The midfielder’s tireless efforts have been integral to the success of the Antonio Conte’s team who are also through to the final of the FA Cup.
