More that 24 courses have been granted full accreditation in LAUTECH.
Despite the ongoing strike at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomosho, the National Universities Commission (NUC) has reportedly granted full accreditation to not fewer than 24 academic programmes in the university.
The NUC approved the full accreditation of the courses in LAUTECH following the accreditation exercise the body organized for the institution in between May and June 2018.
According to reports, the NUC in a letter dated August 14, 2018, and signed by the Executive Secretary, Prof. Abubakar Rasheed full accreditation status would be valid for a period of five years.
The courses include Medicine and Surgery, Nursing, Physiology, Medical Laboratory Science, Anatomy, Accounting, Marketing, Transport Management, Agriculture and Food Science, Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Food Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

Others are Architecture, Urban and Regional Planning, Computer Science, Biochemistry, Mathematics, Pure and Applied Biology, and Pure and Applied Chemistry, Science Laboratory Technology and Earth Sciences (Geology).
LAUTECH shut down again
Meanwhile, the university is currently shut down as the academic and non-academic staff of the institution are on strike.
Earlier in August, the academic staff of the university disrupted ongoing second-semester examinations to begin another strike.
According to Premium Times, the secretary of the union, Toyin Abegunrin confirmed the development saying the university lecturers are embarking on a two-week warning strike to express their displeasure with the non-payment of salaries and poor facilities in the institutions.
