1. Nigerians win big at AFRIMA 2018

Over the weekend, Davido got the 'Artist of the Year' award at the fifth edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2018. This win made him the second Nigerian to get the same award for the second year in a row.

Other Nigerian winners from the ceremony, which held at the Accra International Conference Centre, Ghana, are Tiwa Savage who won the award for the 'Best Female Artist' in West Africa, Praiz, Mr P, Falz, 2Baba and producer Fresh VDM.

2. Atheists share their story

A pro-secular group tell Business Insider Sub-Saharan Africa how they live with Christians and Muslims in Nigeria.

According to the Atheist Society of Nigeria, things aren't as bad as one might imagine.

Here is an excerpt from the interview:

"There is the shock some people feel when they find out that there are atheists in Nigeria. But for the most part, we find Nigerians are tolerant and love to speak their minds when they disagree with you. So we have plenty of discussions but very few instances of being threatened or bullied. We believe in the power of conversation to help each other understand different opinions and worldviews."

3. Cultural artefacts to be returned to Benin

After spending over 100 years in France, President Emmanuel Macron has agreed to return 26 artworks to its rightful place "without delay".

This move is based on the findings of a 2016 study carried out by French art historian Benedicte Savoy and Senegalese writer Felwine Sarr.

"On a continent where 60 per cent of the population is under the age of 20 years old, what is first and foremost of a great importance is for young people to have access to their own culture, creativity, and spirituality from other eras," their report stated.

4. First Lion King teaser trailer gets Nigerians talking

Following the release of the Disney's live-action remake of hit 1994 film, Twitter users had a lot to say.

In a bid to raise money for charity, popular singer, record label owner, actor and politician, Banky W, is auctioning the 2008 model.

The proceeds are expected to go to two charities - The School for the Blind and Pink Oak Cancer Trust Fund.
